…the greatest. When I say my favourite rapper is Andre 3000 I normally get blank stares. A lot of people have a mental image of him as the guy who made “Hey Ya!” which is hard for them to overcome. Admittedly, it’s hard to picture that guy being the coldest rapper alive but I bet most of those people have probably only heard him on “Ms Jackson” (classic) and maybe the Kelis song he spat over (and produced).
He’s your favourite rapper’s favourite rapper. Ask Jay-Z, Eminem (go to 2:22), Talib Kweli/Mos Def, Pharoahe Monch or Drake. This mixtape is the perfect introduction to the incredible talents of Andre “3000” Benjamin, it’s got stuff from way back in the Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik days right up to the recent “I Do”. There’s a few verses that have been missed out but I can let that slide. Lyrics, flow, creativity, substance, delivery, rhyme schemes, versatility – Three Stacks has it all.
I couldn’t pick just one verse for this post so chose five at random. He’s got way too many sick verses.
